HISCF’s Environment Sector is dedicated to promoting sustainability, mitigating climate change, and enhancing the overall ecological health of communities. Here are the key components and initiatives within this sector:
HISCF
Empowering a Greener Future: HISCF's Environmental Initiatives
This flagship project focuses on large-scale reforestation and urban greening efforts. Thousands of trees have been planted across Kurdistan, which not only improves air quality by absorbing CO₂ but also creates green spaces that benefit both urban and rural populations.
HISCF actively involves local communities by raising awareness about environmental conservation. Volunteer programs and interactive workshops encourage residents to participate in tree planting, environmental education, and local clean-up campaigns.
From 2017 to 2024, the sector’s efforts have led to the planting of approximately 48,000 trees and the absorption of around 399,000 metric tons of CO₂. Additionally, over 255 volunteers have contributed to these projects, directly impacting more than 2 million beneficiaries.
